Saturday saw me complete my second 10km run in 20 years. I’m not normally a short distance competitor but when the opportunity of a three stage event arose – I signed up. Tay Fitness owned by Pete and Iona Waugh, brought us this brilliant event which involves a 10km run, a half marathon followed my a marathon trail run over a 4mth period- The Mhor Trilogy.
The sun was out and the competitors arrived by the car fulls to Monachyle Mhor, Balquidder. A well marshalled event even for the car parking. You are then guided up to the main hub, where music, teas, coffees and cakes await you.
Those of us part of the trilogy already had our numbers posted out to us. Thank you for that number one spot Pete and Iona!
Handed in our bags and awaited the start.
423 runners left the start line on this beautiful day. Off we went, where we covered the first section on road. This didn’t take long and then, there it was – the hill that carried on until our turn point. En route, I was met by happy runners, encouraging event team and a piper (nice touch). It was great to experience an event that felt it took no time at all.
Run Mhor is well organised with a great atmosphere. One to put in your calendar. Bring on the next stage! June 16th 2018
Thank you guys for all your hard work.
